Ethan Turon | IT Agilist

Ethan Turon, a pacifist, technologist, and Scaled Agile Expert, has mentored and coached thousands of professionals on the science of IT portfolio & program management, and IT Delivery utilizing scrum, kanban and XP SDLC techniques to build value-centric products and enterprises. Born in Chicago, Illinois - where the first real web browser, Mosaic, was also invented- Ethan built his first computer from spare thrift store parts on DOS and Windows 3, in the early 1990's, when he was 9 years old. By age 12, Ethan was writing HTML, C, and VisualBasic code to produce Warez on AOL. In the early 2000's, Ethan was already experimenting with what would become social media and web3.0 by building guild pages and storefronts online. Through Ethan's lifelong study and career in Global Information Technology, he has wintnessed the birth of the Internet 1 & 2.0, WIFI, MP3, DVD, Livestreaming, Bluetooth, HDMI, OLEDs, and fiber optic internet (1996).


Since 2003, Ethan has built a successful career in the portfolio, program, and project management of IT solutions, QA, software, process improvement, and IT governance, for various industries and major Fortune 500 companies including Walgreens (RX IT), Capital One (Bank IT), Dell (Cybersec) and Ford Motor Company (EV OTA). Major career accomplishments include the release of IVR, VisionRX and Jumbo Screen Tech at Walgreens nationwide, The release of the now industry-standard Card Lock feature at Capital One, and Scaled Agile Transformation at Ford. Ethan is extremely proficient in SDLC Delivery, DevOps, CyberSec, and Full Stack Engineering; He has overseen a number of mainframe-to-cloud transitions, and is AWS Solutions Architect certfied. Ethan has also founded two private IT Consultation firms of his own.

Growing up, Ethan recalls the natural progression of hardware becoming smaller and faster, imagining car phones turning into "Super Phones that fit in your pocket" and memory sources that could be folded down to the size of a stick of gum. Professionally, Ethan began producing websites and software in 1997, when he was 13 years old, for local businesses that outsourced tech work to schools and learning annexes due to a non-existent talent pool of IT Professionals. Ethan's first contract development was a promotional website for a neighborhood record store, and an inventory application for a pizza shop, when he was 13 years old. In the earliest years, Ethan taught himself computer programming and digital art by reading "tuts" that he found loosely arranged on Metacrawler (a precursor to Google) in the infancy of the internet. in the early 2000s, Ethan coded his own chatbots and AI Agents based on the original AliceBot.


Today, Ethan is a technology leader bridging generations, has managed IT solution payloads worth over $200MM, and can produce and guide the delivery lifecycle of anything from a bathroom scale to a space shuttle. As an IT portfolio and program manager, Ethan is extremely skilled at analyzing, and delivering upon technology roadmaps, organizational goals, milestones, initatives, epics, features, stories, and tasks, portfolios, programs, and projects, in collaboration with stakeholders, business and product owners, developers and testers, and executive management, to identify risks and collect metrics for continuous improvement. Ethan gets things done, and he uses his lifelong IT experience, emotional intelligence, eidetic memory, and social ingenuity to connect with people and exchange complex concepts into more easily understandable and managable bodies of work. Ethan is highly skilled in Continuous Integration and is also SPC Certified, as well as a JIRA expert for both On Prem and in the Cloud.

Ethan is a self-starter, a go-getter, an innovator, a facilitator, a proud tax-payer, an avid listener, a team-player, and a problem solver who believes that passion, honesty, and integrity colors everything, he believes in "live and let live" and he believes in himself.



Ethan continues to live in Chicagoland today. He is not married and has never had children of his own. In his free time, Ethan enjoys web development, wandering the museum, writing his own literature, and working on his own music. He loves animals and helping people.
